Restoring Nutrients for Fibromyalgia

Author: Yuri // Category: , ,

Fibromyalgia is a musculoskeletal disease that affects the muscles, and can often be crippling to those whom it affects. According to medical studies, those who suffer from it are toxic and have many nutritional deficiencies. Some of these deficiencies include magnesium, calcium, vitamin D and serotonin.

You may or may not be surprised to discover that all these nutrients can be obtained naturally from nature.

Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer which can be found in avocados, spinach, swiss chard, almonds, peanuts and hazelnuts.

Calcium helps to regulate muscle contractions, and it is found in dark green leaf vegetables such as kale, collards, dandelion greens, as well as sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, Brazil nuts and pecans.

In order for you to be able to absorb calcium in the body you need lots of vitamin D. And believe it or not, but you can obtain this vitamin naturally through exposure from the sun.

Last but not least, serotonin is a hormone that helps you to feel good so that you can fall into a deep sleep at night. It also helps to reduce fatigue, anxiety, depression and fibro fog. There are certain foods that can help to produce this essential hormone. These foods include bananas, pineapples, kiwi, tomatoes, avocados, broccoli, melons, dates, eggplant, figs, grapefruit, spinach, peanuts, walnuts and hickory.

How to Add These Foods to Your Diet

Your goal should be to eliminate ALL foods in your diet that are not raw or need to be cooked processed or baked. This means that the only foods you should strive to eat are plant-based foods.

You can make yummy smoothies with bananas, pineapples, spinach and nuts and seeds. Leaf vegetables can be eaten in salads as well as blended in with your smoothies. And always carry a bag full of nuts to munch on when you get hungry.

Transitioning to the Diet

This is a very difficult transition to make, for the body will detox as you make the changes to a plant-based diet. Whenever your body goes into detox mode, you do not feel good. Sometimes you may experience headaches, and other times you may have an upset stomach or just feel tired. Making small changes in your diet towards the plant-based diet will put your body into detox mode.

Therefore you should make the changes gradually so that your body will not be so overwhelmed. The best thing to do is to start your day with a raw breakfast. Then work your way up to staying raw until lunch, and eventually you will be able to last until supper. Once you can remain raw for about 75% of your meals then you will begin to feel better. You will be able to sleep better, and your muscles will start to relax, and thus your other symptoms will also begin to disappear as well.
