Negative Calorie Foods List - Can Foods actually Have Negative Calories?

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

What are negative calorie foods? And how can something you eat have less than zero calories?

Technically there is no such thing as a negative whole of calories. Roughly all foods have calories (water has zero calories, which is the lowest whole you can get).

Pine Apples

But it also takes us some attempt to eat or drink food. When we eat or drink, we use up calories.

So the diet commerce decided that a food that takes more attempt to eat or drink that it provides is called a negative calorie food.

Before you get too excited, the list of these foods isn't very long and isn't exactly intriguing either. You assuredly wouldn't be able to make a faultless diet out of it:

Apples Asparagus Beets Blueberries Broccoli Cantaloupes Carrot Cauliflower Celery stalk Celery root Cranberries Cucumbers Eggplant Endives Garden cress Garlic Grapefruit Green beans Green cabbage Lemons Lettuce Onions Papayas Pineapples Prunes Radishes Raspberries Spinach Strawberries Tangerines Tomatoes Turnips Zucchini
But it does mean that you can use some of these foods to add range to your diet without the worry of piling on the pounds.

For instance, you could make a very pleasant salad using lettuce, carrots, celery and tomatoes. Just be right not to pile on the calories by smothering the salad with dressing.

Similarly, you could make a fresh fruit salad using apples, pineapples, strawberries and blueberries. Again, be sure not to ruin the negative calorie follow by adding a large dollop of cream!

One of the best ways to use negative foods is as a "filler". They can make a good side dish and will have the follow of filling you up without piling on the calories.

You can also drink water instead of tea or coffee to help cut out the extra calories in the milk that you'd usually use. Twist in a slice of lemon or lime to add some interest.

Burn Calories and Lose Weight with Negative Calorie Foods

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

Since nearly everything we eat helps contribute to our weight gain and calorie consumption it is nice to know that there are foods working on our behalf to slow that process down. Foods that will help your burn calories while consuming them. Sound too good to be true? Well it is not, we actually have at our disposal regular everyday fruits and vegetables to help do just that. Do you want to know what they are? Read on and take a look at the list that will help you enjoy eating while burning calories.

Most people don't know about negative calorie foods because we have been inundated with books, articles and programs that tell us to simply eat less and cut out the carbohydrates. The foods you will see on my list are all fruits and vegetables, which are their own carbohydrates as they have some sugar content, but because of their fiber content, they help our body feel full and burn calories. What does negative calorie mean? Well, simply put it is when the calories burned exceed the calories taken in. While we eat a handful of celery sticks our body is busy working away with both enzymes as well as the physical breakdown of the food. These processes require energy which come from the food you are eating. However, because the food requires more calories for energy to process the actual breakdown than what you have just eaten, it can start to work on stored calories (energy) that you have, helping you burn more calories and lose weight.
