Negative Calorie Foods? Come On!

Author: Yuri // Category: , ,

Do you believe in negative calorie foods?

It sounds almost too good to be true. Eating in reverse? The more you eat, the more you lose?

Yes - it really is true.

Here is how it works.

You burn calories every day all the time - even when you're sleeping. But yes, there are indeed some foods which actually take more calories to burn off and digest than they provide in calories to your body. Best of all, these food burn fat calories!

Here are some negative calorie foods: asparagus, broccoli, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, carrot, garlic, papaya, spinach, turnip, zucchini, apples, oranges, lettuce, grapefruit, pineapples, strawberries, and raspberries.

Why not make your favorites of these foods a regular part of your day? As you can see, they are quite a healthy selection.

Now don't go overboard and decide to eat only those foods. That won't work out too well for too long. Keep everything in moderation - as the Good Book says.

But it would be crazy not to make these foods a part of your day.

There is an ebook about this topic: http://www.dieting-made-easy.com/negativecalories.html.

Negative calories are just one piece of the puzzle I have finally discovered about what it takes to live as a thin person.

Whatever you do, do not think negatively about yourself. See that beautiful person you can be in the mirror. You absolutely must treat yourself well and with respect. You would do the same for a friend - so why not do this for yourself?

Negative calorie foods:any crumbs of truth?

Author: Yuri // Category: , , , ,
I t doesn't sound bad indeed!!
And if only there was a crumb of truth it would be perfect!
Gosh! The more you eat the more you lose!What a miracle!
Ok now! Let's drop from the clouds. There are no miracles,only misleading exaggeration.
The term itself is inapt ,inappropriate and misguiding. It's a glamorous term with no real content,product of a sick-or should I say creative?- imagination. There cannot be any foods with negative calories! The theory behind negative calorie foods is that our body needs more calories to process them than those they contibute.
There is no scientific documentation/proof in corroboration of this arbitrary allegation! If you expect to lose weight based on this concept,you will be betrayed and disappointed.
If you search the web you will find many lists with negative calories foods .

Negative Calorie Foods List - Can Foods actually Have Negative Calories?

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

What are negative calorie foods? And how can something you eat have less than zero calories?

Technically there is no such thing as a negative whole of calories. Roughly all foods have calories (water has zero calories, which is the lowest whole you can get).

Pine Apples

But it also takes us some attempt to eat or drink food. When we eat or drink, we use up calories.

So the diet commerce decided that a food that takes more attempt to eat or drink that it provides is called a negative calorie food.

Before you get too excited, the list of these foods isn't very long and isn't exactly intriguing either. You assuredly wouldn't be able to make a faultless diet out of it:

Apples Asparagus Beets Blueberries Broccoli Cantaloupes Carrot Cauliflower Celery stalk Celery root Cranberries Cucumbers Eggplant Endives Garden cress Garlic Grapefruit Green beans Green cabbage Lemons Lettuce Onions Papayas Pineapples Prunes Radishes Raspberries Spinach Strawberries Tangerines Tomatoes Turnips Zucchini
But it does mean that you can use some of these foods to add range to your diet without the worry of piling on the pounds.

For instance, you could make a very pleasant salad using lettuce, carrots, celery and tomatoes. Just be right not to pile on the calories by smothering the salad with dressing.

Similarly, you could make a fresh fruit salad using apples, pineapples, strawberries and blueberries. Again, be sure not to ruin the negative calorie follow by adding a large dollop of cream!

One of the best ways to use negative foods is as a "filler". They can make a good side dish and will have the follow of filling you up without piling on the calories.

You can also drink water instead of tea or coffee to help cut out the extra calories in the milk that you'd usually use. Twist in a slice of lemon or lime to add some interest.

Pineapple - A Great Negative Calorie Food

Author: Yuri // Category: , ,

One of the most interesting foods that often appears on the negative calorie food list is pineapple. Among negative calorie foods, pineapple is probably the highest in calories, so how can a fruit with a solid amount of calories be a negative calorie food?

Well in the negative calorie foods diet, there are many different factors in determining the amount of energy it takes to burn various types of negative calorie fruits and vegetables, and total calories is only part of that equation. While pineapple has a lot of calories for a negative calorie food, pineapple is still a fruit, meaning it has far fewer calories than grain, meat, or most other foods of the same size.

Pine Apples

Another huge benefit to pineapple, and part of the reason that pineapple remains a negative calorie food, is that it contains an enormous amount of vitamins and dietary fiber (think cleanse the system good). Add low calories with heavy vitamins and high fiber, and the digestive enzymes go wild over this fruit, causing some who believe in the negative foods diet to strongly approve of pineapple as a great negative calorie food.

I'm personally a huge fan of pineapple, since it is one of the more filling of the negative calorie foods, and gives a lot of energy, vitamins, and fiber that you need to get through a day. Whether or not pineapple actually has a true negative calorie effect is hard to say, and pineapple seems one of the least likely fruits or veggies on the negative calorie foods list to actually have a negative calorie effect, but even if it doesn't, pineapple is an extremely healthy fruit that has everything you need to get your digestive and metabolic systems working at full throttle.

Pineapple has the expected large amount of vitamin C, and nominal amounts of Vitamin A, calcium, and even some iron. The biggest positive of pineapple is the huge amount of dietary fiber, as well as the good types of carbs that give you energy and keep your system balanced. If you love the flavor of pineapple and are like me, you can woof down this negative calorie treat by the can.

A very important point when looking for negative calorie fruits such as pineapple: pay attention to the ingredients. Many companies that produce pineapple add extras like sugar or high fructose corn syrup - avoid these cans of pineapple at all cost. Look for the pineapple whose ingredients read simply: "Pineapple, Pineapple Juice." That should be all you see in there. If not, look for another can of rings or slices...or even better, buy it fresh if your local supermarket has it available.

Burn Calories and Lose Weight with Negative Calorie Foods

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

Since nearly everything we eat helps contribute to our weight gain and calorie consumption it is nice to know that there are foods working on our behalf to slow that process down. Foods that will help your burn calories while consuming them. Sound too good to be true? Well it is not, we actually have at our disposal regular everyday fruits and vegetables to help do just that. Do you want to know what they are? Read on and take a look at the list that will help you enjoy eating while burning calories.

Most people don't know about negative calorie foods because we have been inundated with books, articles and programs that tell us to simply eat less and cut out the carbohydrates. The foods you will see on my list are all fruits and vegetables, which are their own carbohydrates as they have some sugar content, but because of their fiber content, they help our body feel full and burn calories. What does negative calorie mean? Well, simply put it is when the calories burned exceed the calories taken in. While we eat a handful of celery sticks our body is busy working away with both enzymes as well as the physical breakdown of the food. These processes require energy which come from the food you are eating. However, because the food requires more calories for energy to process the actual breakdown than what you have just eaten, it can start to work on stored calories (energy) that you have, helping you burn more calories and lose weight.

Pine Apples

Continue to enjoy the foods you love, not worrying about the sugar but rather marveling in the fact that you are losing weight and feeling great!

List Of Negative Calorie Foods

Author: Yuri // Category: ,

You will find a list of negative calorie foods below, but first let's consider what this means. There is no such thing as a negative calorie - a calorie is a unit of heat and it cannot be negative. So when people talk about negative calorie foods, this just means a food whose calorie level is low enough that it takes more energy to eat and digest it than the food contains.

For example, if you consider water to be a food, then cold water is certainly a negative calorie food. It contains no calories at all and the body has to expend energy to bring it up to blood temperature. So every time we drink a glass of cold water we burn up a couple of calories and lose a little weight. But there are very few foods like this. Most foods that are on the list do not really use more calories than they add, or if they do the effect is negligible... until you remember that at the same time the body expends energy just to keep alive and breathing. Celery for example does not give us enough calories to cover both the energy that it takes to digest it, plus the energy that we expend even when we are doing nothing. So that is why people call it a negative calorie food.

Negative calorie foods are most attractive to anorexics. A negative calorie diet would obviously result in starvation in the long term and nutritional deficiencies can occur surprisingly quickly. The calories burnt usually come from muscle mass, and the result is debility and wasting.

A more healthy way to use a negative calorie diet is as a form of fasting or detox. It is something you can do for one to three days right after the Christmas season or another time when you have been eating a over-rich diet. Provided you are otherwise healthy it can be a great way to clean out the system. However it is still best to take medical advice before attempting this.

If you decide to use a negative calorie detox, keep the following points in mind:

1. It is never a good idea to eat huge quantities of one type of food, especially fruits. A lot of foods contain substances that can be damaging if consumed to excess. For example, the acid in grapefruit and pineapple can damage your stomach lining. Other foods put an excessive burden on the liver or may cause diarrhea. So try to use all the different foods in small quantities.

2. Do not spend all day eating. You will just become bloated and feel sick. If you are only doing this for a couple days, you should not feel too hungry. Plan four or five salad meals each day, and let your digestion rest at other times.

3. You will feel more satisfied if you eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. You will also use more calories that way. So if the foods can be eaten raw, that will be more effective than cooking them. Foods like carrots and beets will also be more satisfying if you eat them grated.

4. Schedule time when you do not have any important commitments. As with fasting or any kind of detox, you may suffer some uncomfortable symptoms including headaches, tiredness, depression and irritability. If these become severe, stop the diet and see a doctor.

5. When you end the detox, plan a gradual return to normal eating.

If all the above points are checked and passed, let's move on to the list of foods.

* Apples

* Asparagus

* Beets

* Blueberries

* Broccoli

* Cantaloupes

* Carrot

* Cauliflower

* Celery stalk

* Celery root

Negative Calorie Foods & Weight Loss

Author: Yuri // Category: , ,

You gain weight when your calorie intake is more than your
calorie expenditure. But if this calorie equation is reversed,
then it results in "negative calorie" balance in your body. In
this negative calorie case, you expand more calories than you
take in, resulting in a decrease in the stored calories in the form
of body fat, and you experience a weight loss. About 10% of
daily caloric intake is used to process foods in the body. You can
expand more by doing physical activities.

There are certain foods that show negative calorie effect because
the body has to expand more energy to extract calories from these
foods. The negative calorie foods need more calories to break down
the foods and digest than the calories the foods actually contain.
The extra calories are taken up from the stored fat in the body. Thus
the negative calorie foods (may also be called as minus calorie foods
or fat burning foods) are ideal for reducing the body fat and for
losing weight.

Let us take an example. A piece of dessert consisting of 300 calories
may require only 150 calories to be digested by our body, resulting in
a net gain of 150 calories which is added to our body fat! So if you eat
100 calories of a food that requires 150 calories to digest, then you have
burnt an additional 50 calories simply by eating that food. These 50
calories are used up from the stored fat in your body!

These foods are widely available in nature. Some of the foods from the
list of negative calorie foods (about 100 in number) are: asparagus, broccoli,
beets, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, carrot, garlic, papaya,
spinach, turnip, zucchini, apples, oranges, lettuce, grapefruit, pineapples,
strawberries, and raspberries.

It is a great idea to eat these negative calorie food items to your full
satisfaction without counting calories. Include these foods in your daily
diet and plan your diet according to food pyramid. You will be amazed to see
the fast weight loss results. You can follow negative calorie diet plan for
safe and permanent weight loss.
