There are many good reasons why you would choose to learn English in Hawaii instead of New York or California or anywhere else in America. Hawaii offers so much to the student of English when you think about it, like perfect weather, romantic walks along the beach, palm trees and coconuts and pineapples, surfing, hiking and biking, unsurpassed beauty, their culture, hula dancing, and steel-string guitar music.
There are a number of schools where you can study English in Hawaii, including universities, community colleges, and private schools. The colleges and universities require a long term commitment from students, an F-1 visa, and tuition can be expensive; whereas the smaller private English language schools offer more flexibility, short term studies, smaller classes, and they are often cheaper. One new private school, Hawaii Palms English School, which is located in the heart of Waikiki Beach just a three-minute walk to the beach, deserves special attention. Other better known schools like Global Village and ICC are located next to Ala Moana Shopping Center about a 25 minute walk to Waikiki Beach by comparison.
Pine Apples
Clearly, it has the best location of any language school in Hawaii. The school is convenient and safe and within walking distance of all the hot spots in and around Waikiki Beach. It is close to shopping, restaurants, the post office, cafes, and of course, world famous Waikiki Beach.
Hawaii Palms is a small school and offers special attention to its students, but what makes the school really stand out is its outstanding curriculum and top-notch teaching staff. While visiting the school recently I was impressed by the quality of the teaching staff. Most of the teachers have higher degrees, some of them teach at neighboring universities like the University of Hawaii, and all of the teachers had years of experience teaching English as a second language to students around the world.
The smaller schools are able to offer the English language student short term programs that are not as expensive as one might expect for Hawaii. The price of a 9 week Intensive English Program at this school, for example, was only 50 and that includes textbooks. What's more, all the schools offer to help students find accommodations during their stay in Hawaii.
If you want to learn English, why not choose Hawaii? You will not only be surprised by Hawaii's affordability, but you can also look forward to an impressive array of activities that many schools simply cannot offer. Most of these activities involve their natural beauty, its warm clear blue ocean, and the tropical plants and flowers which make this truly a paradise. You can learn a traditional activity like surfing, hula dancing, and ukulele; or you can take a walk on the wild side and try sky diving, scuba diving, kayaking, tropical hiking and camping. It is well known for its sunshine, palm trees, and perfect weather every day of the year. It's an ideal place to go if you want to learn English.
Why wouldn't you look into studying English in Hawaii?
