Pineapples are full of anti inflammatory properties which protects against conditions such as carpel tunnel syndrome. Once a six pack abs diet pineapple has been cut into, it is advised to be consumed immediately.

Carrots

Carrots are so rich in vitamin A that I will forgo the rest of the natural condition benefits of this vegetable and go into a detailed article of this six pack abs diet compound. Vitamin A is good for the eyes and helps you see better in the dark. This vitamin is also good for the skin; especially if you have rough or flakey skin. There are also a host of secondary effects of Vitamin a such as being an antioxidant, helping bone metabolism and immune functions.

Almonds

Almonds are loaded with good fat that is wholesome for the body. Monounsaturated fat is so good for the heart because it takes the place of bad fats such as saturated and Trans fat inside the heart and blood vessels. Almonds are a very rough and hard food; therefore it is high in fiber, which helps to forestall colon cancer. Discrete vitamins and minerals help to make this a healthier food. Author: Yuri // Category: , ,

If you enjoy old-fashioned pineapple pound cake, I think you will appreciate this recipe from my grandmother. This is a certainly yummy sweetmeat cake that I like to make and serve during the summer months.

If desired, you can make the recipe using the topping listed below, or you can wholly omit it and leave the cake plain.

Pine Apples

Ingredients:

1/2 cup vegetable shortening

1/2 lb. Butter, softened

2 3/4 cups granulated sugar

6 large eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 cup milk

3/4 cup canned un-drained crushed pineapples with juice

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar

1 cup crushed pineapples, drained

Tip: Do not substitute margarine for the butter.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the shortening, butter and granulated sugar. Gently add in the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour with the baking powder and then add it to the creamed mixture, 1 large spoonful at a time, alternately with the milk. Stir in the vanilla excerpt and crushed pineapples with the juice, blend all ingredients well.

Lightly spray a 10" round tube pan with nonstick cooking spray. Pour the pound cake batter into the ready baking pan and place in a cold oven. Turn the heat on to 325 degrees and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly touched.

To make the pineapple topping: In a large bowl, combine the confectioner's sugar, 1/4 cup softened butter and the 1 cup of drained crushed pineapples. Pour this mixture over your hot cake and then let it cool.

Fresh Juice and Why Its Good For You

Author: Yuri // Category:

This is our thoughts on bottled juices and why fresh juice from your juicer at home is the best thing for you! And while we are on this field what exactly is juice from concentrate?

Take the humble apple for example, when an apple is growing on a tree in blazing sunlight then it's a living thing growing and rammed full of nature's best goodness! As soon as you pick the apple it's reached its peak and whatever happens from now it's losing its natural goodness and living energy!

Pine Apples

That's why it's a good idea to eat fresh fruit as soon as you can, and by fresh, nothing is fresher than right off the tree! Fresh fruit and veg or freshly juiced fruit and veg juice is about as wholesome as foodstuff gets. Rammed full of vitamins, minerals sucked right from the ground, and easy to digest. Super.

Now freshly squeezed bottled juice is good, no doubt, but think about it, the fruit is picked, sent to the factory, juiced (and we hope it's juiced in a nutrient preserving way of course) probably heat treated in some way to give it it's shelf life and then sent to the shop for you to buy! That's a good few hours there to say the least, and that heat treating will admittedly degrade the nutrient content! Not good and not what we can call a living food is it?

And what does made from incorporate mean? Well I'll tell you! This is a way to make cheaper juice at source, say you want pineapple juice in a country that pineapples don't grow. Here are the 6 steps of juice that is made from concentrate...

1. Grow your pineapples.

2. Pick the pineapples and juice them.

3. Preserve the juice, development pineapple incorporate (yes an additional one heat treatment).

4. Ship the dehydrated pineapple incorporate to the country you want to sell juice in.

5. Re-hydrate the pineapple pulp from the concentrate.

6. Bottle the juice up and send it out to the shops for sale.

Its things like this that can leave our food pretty dull and lifeless, the energy, nutrient content and life itself starts to fall away from our food as soon as it's picked.

This is why we think living juices right from a slow speed, cold press style juicer are the best thing for you! Your body needs the fragile micro nutrients that processing, time and heat removes from your food.

We hope these articles on juicers, living foods and other live food methods are useful to you and get you thinking about what you can do to improve your health and vitality today!

Finding The Best Wedding Flowers For Your Big Day

Author: Yuri // Category: , ,
When planning your wedding flowers you must consider them to be the bride's arrangements, reflecting the spirit of her life's happiest day. From bouquets to decorations and wedding reception flowers, many brides are clueless about which one of them to select.
Flowers should be chosen according to the bride and groom preferences, color of the bride and bridesmaids' dresses, church and reception places, and sticking to the decoration theme, if any.
Another point to consider is the season because most floral varieties are easily found year-round, but seasonal flowers are cheaper and easier to find. Fresh flowers are the most viable option when it comes to planning the wedding day, but a few brides prefer dried flowers or artificial ones made of silk.
Having an overall perspective of the flowers available throughout the different seasons of the year may help to save money on flowers and yet allow you to select the most appropriate flowers for the big day. Wedding Flowers can be classified into Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Anytime categories.
Spring Wedding Flowers to choose from are tulips, violets, greenery, fern, pansies, peonies, ivy, daffodils, lilacs, lilies and lily of the valley, dogwoods, irises, forsythia branches, hyacinth, larkspur, sweet peas, apple or cherry blossoms.
For summer, the seasonal Wedding Flowers are daisies, roses, dahlias, zinnias, asters, iris, larkspur, Shasta,  stock, calla lilies, delphinium, geraniums, hydrangeas, sunflower, sweet William, greenery, beech leaves, ferns, meadowsweet, stock, goldenrod, Jacobs ladder and Queen Anne's Lace.
During the fall, most wedding arrangements include both flowers and foliage but not necessary. The mix of these elements is always a decision of the bride who can choose from a single flower theme to combined floral arrangements with or without specific foliage any time of the year.
In Autumn, Wedding flowers include asters, dried hydrangeas, roses, zinnias, statice, marigolds, chrysanthemums and gerbera daisies while the most commonly used foliage are autumn leaves, yarrow, rosemary and rosehip.
Wedding Flowers for winter include the classic poinsettias, as well as orchids, amaryllis, camellias, jasmine and forget-me-nots in addition to accents of pine, ivy, fem, spruce and rhododendron leaves, so there is no need for dried or artificial flowers as many brides still believe.
Apart from the flowers already mentioned, there are some others available anytime when brides seek fresh flowers, including a variety of carnations and roses, besides of gardenias, baby's breath, snapdragons, stephanotis and ivy mainly used in wedding bouquets.
Wedding flowers are part of your special day, but can take a large portion of the wedding budget if not planned in advance. However, their importance should not be underestimated because they are symbol of joyful celebration, prosperity and fertility contributing to the atmosphere of love joining the bride and groom's lives together.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetable storehouse - How to Make Your furnish Last Longer

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

You made the commitment to healthier eating, and decided to merge more fruits and vegetables into your daily diet. Fruits and vegetables can be expensive, and you don't have time to shop at the shop every day. How can you make that high-priced furnish last longer at home? ensue these tips for allowable fruit and vegetable storage.

With a wee planning, eat the furnish that will spoil first, and work your way straight through the other furnish as the week progresses. To avoid conducting a séance to bring your lettuce back to life, use following ideas help keep furnish fresh.

Pine Apples

Two main things to remember:

o Do not wash furnish until you are ready to eat it.

o Store fruits and vegetables separately.

Proper Fruit Storage

1.    Fruits like low moisture. Berries last about three days so eat those first. Store unwashed strawberries on a paper towel in a sealed plastic storage container.

2.    Berries, oranges, pineapples, cherries, grapes and watermelon do not ripen after picking. Put them directly into the refrigerator. Lemons and limes can be kept on the counter, but last longer in the refrigerator.

3.    Buy bananas green, and let them ripen to use when you want them. Banana skins turn black in the refrigerator, but the fruit will still taste the same. When bananas are overly ripe, peel them, put them in small food or fruit storage bags and freeze them for smoothies.

4.    Ripen unavoidable fruits on the counter and move them to the refrigerator when they are soft to the touch. Unripe pears, apricots, peaches, plums, mangoes, honeydew melons, cantaloupes, bananas, kiwis, and avocados can soften on the counter. Once they turn soft to the touch, move them into the refrigerator.  Apples will also continue to ripen.  Put un-bruised apples in the refrigerator to keep them crisp for many weeks.

Vegetable Storage

1.    In general, vegetables stay fresh in a moist environment, which means the crisper drawer of the refrigerator.  Keep only the broccoli in a bag so the whole refrigerator doesn't smell like broccoli. If you don't have a crisper drawer, store the vegetables wrapped in a plastic bag on in a plastic container.

2.    Too much moisture can be bad for your vegetables, and brown spots will establish especially on lettuce if it is too damp.

3.    Store tomatoes on the counter and only chill them right before serving.

4.  Potatoes, onions, eggplant, and hard shell squashes should be stored in a cool, dry place.

Following these guidelines will ensure you get the most value and flavor from your fresh fruits and vegetables.

Swedish Potato Sausage (Potatis Korv)

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

Many European sausages contain filler material. Barley or buckwheat groats are added to Polish blood sausages and white blood sausage usually contains rice. In England oatmeal, rusk, and bread crumbs are often included. In Asia rice is often added to regular sausages and to fermented ones, as rice ferments quite well.

Swedish sausages are known to contain potatoes and they are naturally delicious. Grilled sausage served with potatoes tastes great so why not incorporate both elements, meat and potato, and stuff them into a casing. Swedish potato sausage is a classical sausage. This means that it has a well defined character that separates it from others. Quite often people let their imagination run loose and they mix meat with ingredients such as apples, raisins, pineapples and others and mental that they have created a masterpiece. In reality they have just created someone else version of a easy sausage and it is doubtful either others will like such an invention.

Pine Apples

Swedish potato sausage is liked by everyone and is very easy to make. It is a fresh sausage, this means it has to be refrigerated and fully cooked before serving. It may be cooked after stuffing and will become a ready to eat sausage, but it still has to be refrigerated.

Recipe

Materials:

pork 400 g, 0.88 lb.
beef 300 g, 0.66 lb.
potatoes 300 g, 0.66 lb.

Ingredients per 1000 g (1 kg, 2.2 lb) of meat:

salt 20 g, 3 tsp.
white pepper 4.0 g, 2 tsp.
allspice, ground 2.0 g, 1 tsp.
small onion, 30 g, 2 Tbs.
water 125 ml, ½ cup

Instructions:

1. Grind meats, boiled potatoes and onions straight through 3/8 inch plate.
2. Mix water with salt, pepper and allspice and mix all well together.
3. Stuff into 36 mm casings.
4. The sausage can be fried, baked or boiled. You may place it in a skillet with water to cover, bring it to a boil and then simmer on lower heat for about 20 minutes.
5. Store in refrigerator.
6. Cook before serving.

Notes:

The sausage can be made with raw or boiled potatoes. It is better, however, to use boiled potatoes, for the sausage may not be cooked as completely as raw potatoes require. Furthermore, if the sausage is not immediately cooked, the raw potatoes turn dark and gray, discoloring the sausage.

Negative Calorie Foods List - Can Foods actually Have Negative Calories?

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

What are negative calorie foods? And how can something you eat have less than zero calories?

Technically there is no such thing as a negative whole of calories. Roughly all foods have calories (water has zero calories, which is the lowest whole you can get).

Pine Apples

But it also takes us some attempt to eat or drink food. When we eat or drink, we use up calories.

So the diet commerce decided that a food that takes more attempt to eat or drink that it provides is called a negative calorie food.

Before you get too excited, the list of these foods isn't very long and isn't exactly intriguing either. You assuredly wouldn't be able to make a faultless diet out of it:

Apples Asparagus Beets Blueberries Broccoli Cantaloupes Carrot Cauliflower Celery stalk Celery root Cranberries Cucumbers Eggplant Endives Garden cress Garlic Grapefruit Green beans Green cabbage Lemons Lettuce Onions Papayas Pineapples Prunes Radishes Raspberries Spinach Strawberries Tangerines Tomatoes Turnips Zucchini
But it does mean that you can use some of these foods to add range to your diet without the worry of piling on the pounds.

For instance, you could make a very pleasant salad using lettuce, carrots, celery and tomatoes. Just be right not to pile on the calories by smothering the salad with dressing.

Similarly, you could make a fresh fruit salad using apples, pineapples, strawberries and blueberries. Again, be sure not to ruin the negative calorie follow by adding a large dollop of cream!

One of the best ways to use negative foods is as a "filler". They can make a good side dish and will have the follow of filling you up without piling on the calories.

You can also drink water instead of tea or coffee to help cut out the extra calories in the milk that you'd usually use. Twist in a slice of lemon or lime to add some interest.

Have you seen lately adds of lose-weight products, of products promising to help you get rid enduringly of chronic pain or of some other miracle? Such kind of adds are something very coarse nowadays. They are everywhere nearby us - on the Tv, on billboards, in magazines, internet and even on the radio.

Some of them advertise singular products and according to the modern tendencies most of ten them are based upon herbal base. Others offer complete systems of food and action regime, personally tasted and 100% guaranteed by some celebrity.

Pine Apples

What they have in coarse is that all of them guaranties you a complete and specific success.

The products are improving, the advertisements get best and the request is growing.

Then why are the results whatever but obvious?

Let us consider the advertisement of a set of six products for weight loss, created and offered by a pleasant, conductive, conscientious and neighborly guy (the overcharging descriptions are allowed in this case - it is an advertisement after all).

The products are in the following combination. The first one burns the fats. To stronger the follow this product is combined with a speed-up metabolism one. For achieving maximum results the third one suppresses the appetite.

It is well known that such combination, even if not combined with a corporeal activity, more than just breathing results in a total weakening So the fourth product is, of course, a for extensive stimulation. The last two products are probably against teeth fall off and against going wholly nuts.

The huge reduction is meant to show you the complete lack of advantage and the good intents of the creator. The number is for a singular month but the agenda must in effect last more than that singular month.

Does whatever turn the red light on?

There is other example of is a product based upon an enzyme, that can be found only in pineapples. This enzyme is claimed to burn eleven times more fats. The add gives no enlightening about eleven times more compared to what.

The closing is that all this has transformed into an industry providing work to an ever growing number of entrepreneurs, mediators, and advertising agents and so on.

Not bad, of course, if new positions are developed.

But the request is if the purpose of all this is still to heighten your condition or to help you once and forever to get rid of the extra pounds?

Day Trips from Delano California

Author: Yuri // Category: ,
Delano families are always looking for new and different things to do. Heading west to the beach or north to the Bay Area are popular options. However, within two hours east of us lay many interesting locations that showcase the beauty of the Sierra. While there, you will have plenty of opportunity to stretch your back, exercise, and breath fresh air.
Just thirty minutes out of Delano and home to the annual Springville Apple Festival, Springville is an enjoyable destination for a quick get-away and meal out from Delano. It is also on the way to many great spots in the high Sierra.
Drive past Springville to Camp Nelson, about 45 minutes further. The road is winding and in the winter may not be passable without chains or a 4-wheel drive. (Getting stuck on a winter road may cause you to put out your back and could land you back in the Delano chiropractor's office way too soon.) Once you are in Camp Nelson, you will enjoy Giant Sequoia trees that have made this part of the Sierra famous. There are plenty of hiking trails and fishing in Camp Nelson. The historic Camp Nelson lodge is our pick for lodging.
Past Camp Nelson, drive along the Great Western Divide Highway (190) to Quaking Aspen and Ponderosa Lodge. In the fall, the leaves on the quaking aspen trees turn yellow and rustle delicately in the wind. Seeing the leaves in the fall is a simple pleasure you do not want to miss. You will catch some of the aspens at the Ponderosa Lodge where we recommend a burger and fries out on the open air deck. Ponderosa Pines will tower above you as you dine.
Drive about five minutes past Ponderosa Lodge and take the dirt road to Dome Rock. The road is bumpy but worth it to see the back country of the Sierra. Dome Rock is also a favorite for amateur astronomers.
From Dome Rock, continue driving for about twenty minutes until you hit the Trail of a Hundred Giants, an entirely wheel chair-accessible trail, paved in asphalt, and as beautiful as any grove of redwood giants in the Park. For $5 to park, enjoy this moderate hike -- help your back and your body by getting a bit of exercise.
After your hike on the Trail, drive back to Delano via California Hot Springs, about 30 minutes drive. The historic Hot Springs resort is still open and offers swimming and casual food for the family. The pool water itself is a warm 80 degrees and the two hot tubs are over 100 degrees. From California Hot Springs, the drive back to Delano is about 55 minutes.
The Sierra Nevada is close to Delano and offers residents great opportunities to spend time with their families and stay healthy at the same time.

Alexander V. Martin spends his time in California and helps promote the Sequoia National Forest while supporting California professionals such as the competent Delano lawyer, Colton lawyer, and Corte Madera lawyer.

Children Must Be rigorous When Eating Pineapples

Author: Yuri // Category: , , ,

The nutritional value of pineapples is rather high. Lots of nutrients are contained in pineapples, such as fructose, glucose, vitamins and mineral salt. These nutrients are all needed by the human body. Because of good taste and abundant nutrients, pineapples are very beloved among children. However, it does not mean that it is thoroughly safe for children to eat many pineapples.

Pineapples include three kinds of unhealthy compositions which can endanger the human health. Glycoside contained in pineapples is a kind of organic substance which can stimulate the human skin and mucous membrane of the oral cavity. If people eat the raw pineapples without any processing procedure, the symptom of tickling can appear inside the oral cavity. Serotonin is a kind of organic substance which contains nitrogen. It can shrink the blood vessels and raise the blood pressure.

Pine Apples

The immoderate intake of it can directly cause headache. Other unhealthy blend contained in pineapples is bromelain. It is a kind of proteolytic enzyme. After being extracted, proteolytic enzyme can effectively decompose fibrin and blood clot. It can be used in medical treatment. The low estimate of bromelain contained in pineapples can be decomposed and destroyed by gastric juice after people eat pineapples. However, some people are allergic to this kind of enzyme. The symptoms like bellyache, headache, dizziness and urticaria can appear. Some people can be even attacked by dyspnoea and shock.

Children Must Be rigorous When Eating Pineapples

Therefore, the eating ways of pineapples must be literal, and the estimate must be moderate. In order to profess the good taste of pineapples, people can put the pieces or chunks of pineapples in the salty water for 30 minutes. Then, people can use cold boiled water to remove the salt taste of pineapples so as to avoid the potential symptoms of allergy. people can also boil the pieces or chunks of pineapples in the pan to destroy the toxic substances. When the pineapples are boiled thoroughly, 90% of toxic substances can be eliminated.

Except pineapples, some other fruits are also not suitable for children to eat excessively, such as leechee and orange. The methyl cyclopropyl glycine contained in leechee can decrease the blood sugar and change the nature of the fat in the liver. The immoderate intake of leechee can cause pale face, unconsciousness and even death for children. The immoderate intake of carotene contained in orange can make the skin turn yellow and cause sickness and inappetence for children.

3 Natural Gout Treatments You Can Use to Get Rid of Gout

Author: Yuri // Category: ,

Waking up to searing foot or ankle pain can be frustrating. Especially when you are already taking medication to preclude attacks. These three natural gout treatments can help ease and preclude painful joints.

1. Pineapples

Pine Apples

Pineapples are great at getting rid of gout. While they are not as well known as cherries, the king of gout treatments, they tackle every part of the problem by getting rid of uric acid, reducing swelling, and reducing uric acid levels. Pineapples are loaded with potassium which helps liquefy uric acid so your kidneys can eliminate them. The bromelain in pineapples reduces swelling, and the vitamin C has been shown in tests to significantly sell out uric acid levels.

3 Natural Gout Treatments You Can Use to Get Rid of Gout

2. Grapes

Grapes aid in getting rid of gout by helping sell out swelling, helping the kidneys eliminate uric acid, and by helping sell out uric acid levels. Grapes help sell out swelling straight through two flavonoids, quercitin, and anthocyanins. Dark grapes are better for treating gout than lighter ones as they have a much higher level of flavonoids. Grapes help the kidneys excrete uric acid due to their high water article and potassium. Grapes are 2/3 water. Grapes also are useful in reducing uric acid levels due to their vitamin C content.

3. Bananas

Bananas like pineapples and grapes also help sell out swelling and lower uric acid levels. As with our first two fruits, bananas include potassium and vitamin C. Bananas have practically 10% of the daily recommended reduction for potassium. They include practically 15% of the recommended reduction for vitamin C.

Pineapples, grapes, and bananas by themselves will not help you get rid of gout, however, when combined together as a regular part of your diet, they form a potent remedy to help you sell out painful swelling, decrease your excess uric acid levels straight through urination, and sell out your long term uric acid levels.

How Can Fresh Pineapple Help Arthritis?

Author: Yuri // Category: ,

All fresh fruits together with pineapple are packed with enzymes any way pineapple is well known for being packed with an enzyme called bromelain. This gives the fruit some phenomenal natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Of policy like most fruits it's bursting with vitamin C. They are second only to bananas as America's beloved tropical fruit.

It is this the enzyme bromelain that makes pineapple useful in treating bruises, sprains and strains by reducing swelling, tenderness and pain. This anti-inflammatory property will help in relieving osteo-arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis symptoms as well as reducing post-operative swelling. Bromelain also acts as a digestive enzymes aiding in protein digestion. Most of the bromelain is concentrated in the core of the pineapple and for this calculate I always add the stem to my smoothies. Pineapple is also known to help with fluid retention.

Pine Apples

To gain the benefit of bromelain as an anti-inflammatory or as a digestive enzyme, it is prominent to know that enzymes are very sensitive to light and temperatures especially heat. So any commercially bought pineapple products will be dead so to speak, the enzymes will have been destroyed. This goes for bought juices, canned, frozen, and dried pineapple.

How Can Fresh Pineapple Help Arthritis?

When choosing a fresh pineapple color isn't necessarily a good indicator of ripeness, some are in their prime when still green, it depends on the variety, ranging from green to yellow. The most prominent factor in determining ripeness is aroma let your nose help you decide. Ripe pineapples give off a sweet, fresh tropical smell. Avoid pineapples that give off a slightly alcoholic smell, they are too ripe and are fermenting. Avoid pineapples with soft spots or areas of dark discoloration. Eat pineapple at room climatic characteristic to appreciate their full flavor.

Pineapple "Rum Pud"
One or two pineapples
Add fresh mango (or freezing - you ready when they were in season)
Fresh Ginger
Thick coconut milk
A dash or two of rum
A banana or two
Leave the leaves on the pineapple and cut a pineapple in half distance ways. Scoop or cut out the flesh leaving the pineapple halves in tack to use as containers. Cut up the flesh into cubes removing the stem. Put the pineapple into a bowl, add freshly grated ginger to taste, thick coconut milk and a puny rum, slice or chop up bananas and mix all ingredients together. Author: Yuri // Category: ,

Waking up to searing foot or ankle pain can be frustrating. Especially when you are already taking medication to prevent attacks. These three natural gout treatments can help relieve and prevent painful joints.

1. Pineapples

Pine Apples

Pineapples are great at getting rid of gout. While they are not as well known as cherries, the king of gout treatments, they tackle every part of the qoute by getting rid of uric acid, reducing swelling, and reducing uric acid levels. Pineapples are loaded with potassium which helps liquidize uric acid so your kidneys can eliminate them.

Dark grapes are great for treating gout than lighter ones as they have a much higher level of flavonoids. Grapes help the kidneys excrete uric acid due to their high water content and potassium. Grapes are 2/3 water. Grapes also are beneficial in reducing uric acid levels due to their vitamin C content.

3. Bananas

Bananas like pineapples and grapes also help sell out swelling and lower uric acid levels. As with our first two fruits, bananas contain potassium and vitamin C. Bananas have practically 10% of the daily recommended allowance for potassium. They contain practically 15% of the recommended allowance for vitamin C.

Pineapples, grapes, and bananas by themselves will not help you get rid of gout, however, when combined together as a quarterly part of your diet, they form a potent remedy to help you sell out painful swelling, decrease your excess uric acid levels straight through urination, and sell out your long term uric acid levels.

Secrets of Pineapples - wholesome Food For Your Kids

Author: Yuri // Category: , ,

Mum silently entered the room with a huge box in her hands. Her son still was sleeping, having curled up on the bed.

"I shall leave all his gifts on the table," opinion Mum, anxiously looking at the pale face of her son. "When he wakes up, and sees them then his face will at once cheer up again. Today he is going to be 10 years old, but he looks as if he is only seven..." she sighed sadly at her son who suffered from anaemia.

Pine Apples

Then she took from the box a big orange-brownish scaly fruit with a bunch of green narrow leaves on top.

Secrets of Pineapples - wholesome Food For Your Kids

Soon the boy appeared at the doorway of the kitchen.

"Mum, from where does such a huge, sweet-smelling fruit come from?" he asked, hardly able to hold the heavy fruit. "It is a pineapple, dear," answered Mum smiling. "Your uncle has sent it to you as a gift together with a note. Here listen: 'In this pineapple is underground a power (strength) of the hot tropical sun. It will tell you about the extraordinary southern countries'." "Can pineapples speak?" the boy was surprised. "I suppose they speak with their appearance and aroma," Mum answered. "Your uncle too has written the letter to me, and I wish to read it to you: 'Dear sister, you wrote, that my nephew is getting weak due to his illness, therefore I'm sending this pineapple. Pineapples consist of a extraordinary substance - bromelin. This bromelin is like a chimney sweep, it cleans each cell of our body. Pineapples helped me greatly - when I developed inflammation of my veins. It was at such a bad stage that even ulcers started to appear. At that time I worked on a ship and due to my illness they asked me to resign and leave the ship. And just then our physician advised me to eat pineapples, and now I can run again like a young boy. Do not be surprised, sister, easily you will see for yourself - one who has tried the medical nature of this extraordinary fruit on himself, never will forget it. Your loving brother'."

"Oh, this is easily a very, very special fruit - this pineapple," exclaimed the boy with excitement after listening to his uncle's letter. "Perhaps pineapples are the fruits of tropical pine-trees that grow right up to the sky, and they have golden flowers?"

"My dear, what an imagination! Ok, I'll bring you a special book about pineapples so that you can read all about them. And for now - let's try your gifts," said Mum, tenderly petting her son on his head.

When mum cut out a integrate of golden-yellow circles, the aroma advent from the pineapple filled up their room. The boy happily applauded. And for lunch his mum allowed him to eat a few pieces of pineapple instead of rice porridge. And, what a miracle! That day the boy surprisingly looked very cheerful and unusually full of energy.

"Interesting, maybe this is the effect of the pineapple?" opinion the mother. "Well, I suppose from now on I'll give him more fruit and fruit juices." In two days his mum brought him the promised book about tropical fruits. And that evening nothing could distract him from reading the book. "Mama, you know, pineapples do not grow on pine-trees. On the contrary, they are very small plants. On the short stem grow many hard greenish leaves which have sharp spines along the edges and pointed tips. Inside those leaves sits a pineapple!" the boy associated with surprise. "Also the flowers of pineapples are not golden but arresting red with a blue-violet raceme," continued the boy. Later on he sighed. "It is such a pity that we have already eaten up all the pineapple. We should have taken it by each spikey scales or its prongs. If one can take them out easily then the pineapple is ripe." "Go to sleep rather," laughed mother. "The ripeness of our pineapple is without any doubt - see for yourself how much power it has given you!" "Oh Mama, why did you throw away the pineapple's top with leaves? We could have grown from it a new pineapple. It says in the book what kind of soil and what size of pot we need for that. And also it requires warm weather. Pineapples won't grow if the climatic characteristic is below 20 degrees."

"Verily, a very unusual pineapple my brother sent me," opinion mum happily while looking at the pleasant blushing face of her son. One won't believe that just a few days ago this same boy was so pale and weak."

From that time the boy's health started to improve tremendously. His mum remembered daily to give him fruits and juices. He grew up and became a pupil of agricultural academy.

Within 10 years in that small Siberian town, where the boy lived, a harvest of exotic fruits, from pineapples to pomegranates started to appear in the shops. Habitancy were very surprised to see these tropical wonders and asked the sales assistants how these fruits came to their shops. The shop keepers cheerfully replied that "A scientist grows all these in local hothouses. Moreover, this scientist gives lectures about the benefits of all these fruits. And whoever listens to his lectures will run straight to the shop to buy these tropical wonders".
